THE EAGLE HAS LANDED! THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!—Miles has arrived safely in Iowa!
AND—He only locked his keys in his car once the whole trip!
For many of our first months together, Miles' frustration mounted as I'd continually ask upon exiting the car, "Do you have your keys?"
Finally, one day, his frustration unbeknownst to me, he snapped. A torrent of steam billowing from his ears and nose, he grated irritably, "Stop asking me that. I never lock my keys in the car. I will never lock my keys in the car. STOP ASKING ME THAT."
So, I...stopped asking him that. Obviously, I had chosen to boogie over a sensitive nerve with two left feet.
Wordlessly, I've watched him lock the keys in the car not once. Not even two times, in fact! Nope, this latest incident marks THE FOURTH incident.
I need say no more on the subject.
Cheers, Miles! Enjoy the Midwest—I'll sleep better knowing that you're in the same time zone again!
